Debendranath Tagore, a renowned philosopher, and social reformer were born on May 15, 1817, AD at Calcutta, Bengal in the prestigious and affluent family of Dwarkanath Tagore. Debendranath\'s mothers name was Digambari Devi. In 1839, he established the \'Tattaranjini Sabha\' which later renamed to Tattwabodhini Sabha\', with the help of another social reformer Pandit Ram Chandra Vidyabagesh. He launched a magazine named \'Tattwabodhini Patrika\' to spread his ideas and ideology among the followers of the Brahmo Samaj. He played a key role in reviving the Bramha Samaj which had lost its appeal and influence among the people at that time, especially after the death of its founder Raja Ram-Mohan Roy in 1833.
