Technically, a talent management certification is not mandatory for an HR job; it is just a value-add. Increasingly, though, rare is the job posting that does not include “certification required”/”certification preferred” among the list of qualifications sought from applicants.
This inevitably leads a talent management professional to the question of whether or not getting certified is worth it. Certification is, after all, an investment of both time and money – possibly less than for a degree, but an investment nevertheless. Statistics ring loud and clear – salaries are most definitely higher for people who have completed talent management programs.
