Understand the SEO and the 3 main algorithms of Google
To stand on the first page of Google you need to do proper SEO of your website. For doing proper SEO you also have to understand Google’s algorithms.
However it is also important to understand Google’s 3 main algorithms and how they operate at the content level.
Best SEO Practice:
Websites and blogs are for visitors. Without visitors they do not exist! In Google or any other search engine to be read and seen you need to be on the first page or at first place of Google!
- The SEO (Search Engine Optimization) works with keywords.
- The SEA (Search Engine Advertising) paid service works through the purchase of keywords and advertisements.
For getting quick results and traffic on your Website SEA is the best choice. However SEO takes 6 months to get your website on first page of Google! Most of the top SEO companies in USA are offering cost effective services to rank your website in search engine.
In digital marketing for getting better results both types of advertisement techniques are used simultaneously. For doing SEO it’s important to know how search engine algorithm works.
An algorithm is a set of operations and instructions performed by search engines (especially Google). Google is the most used search engine in the world. 92.9% of the world market share, so it is necessary to know how it works.
Google has developed several algorithms that rely on several hundred factors to evaluate the quality of a web page and position of your website in search engine.
Google’s algorithms are constantly evolving. It is necessary to remain on standby to track changes and changes in its index.
Google’s SEO algorithms
The two most famous Google algorithms are Panda and Penguin. Appeared respectively in 2011 and 2012. They enforce their rules and attention to spam!
Finally “hummingbird” is introduced in 2013. This algorithm have more advance rules than the previous ones because it does not reason according to the keywords typed during the search. The algorithm provides more accurate and relevant results according to user search.
The Google Panda
Panda algorithm is introduced for bad quality websites with low quality content.
This update put an impact on those websites publishing content to generate advertising revenue or websites duplicating existing content. The last official version of Panda introduced from July 2015. It is a major algorithm of Google.
The Google Penguin or Google Penguin algorithm
Penguin attack on those websites “which are over optimized for SEO” in order to boost their SEO.
Second update of Penguin is announced on September 23, 2016. It is finally integrated into Google’s algorithm with updates in real time. This is another major algorithm of Google.
Google Hummingbird
“Hummingbird” is announced in September 2013. This update comes just to improve the relevancy of the results by a better understanding of the user’s intention.
At first scan, Google Hummingbird is interested in queries made up of several keywords. He would be the most intelligent algorithm because he tries to guess the definition behind each request and translates it into a short query.
The Google Pigeon algorithm
Google Pigeon algorithm update was launched in the United States on July 24, 2014. It is associated with the SEO of corporate websites and more precisely their geo location.
It has logically pushed companies to review their local SEO strategy in order to bring out more relevant results related to the geographical location of their company.
How do the algorithms work?
The algorithms look like indexing robots still called bots, spiders, crawlers or agents that scour the websites at regular intervals.
They scan from top to bottom everything on your website.
This is why in terms of SEO it is important to put the right keywords at the top of a website. This is of course not enough because for getting better results for your SEO many points are need to optimize.
Some rules to respect in terms of referencing:
– Structural elements (URL, domain name)
– Technical elements (loading speed, mobile compatibility, etc.)
– Qualitative elements (volume of content, spelling.)
– The title of the page called “(title tag)”
– The text content
– The enhancement elements and different html tags
– The number and especially the quality of the “backlinks” (external links)
In terms of content another basic rule is used:
Take the example of an article.
Content: Write content of at least 300 words (this is the bare minimum)
Keywords: Choose the most relevant keywords they are the words on which you will rank in the search engine. Also work on key phrases or long tail keywords. Here a question comes! Should we favor generic keywords or long tail keywords?
Title: The keyword must be positioned at the beginning (70 characters maximum)
Content: The keywords should always be placed at the beginning of the text. No more than 5 keywords preferably in bold.
Links: Introduce and insert internal and external links (relevant sites), always include and name the images.
Finally to evaluate the good SEO score of a website, there was the “PageRank” but it is no longer disclosed by Google.
It was an importance score between 1 and 10 for the web page depending on the quality of the external links pointing to it and established by the algorithm of Google.
On the other hand there is the Social Rank which makes it possible to measure the popularity of a website or a web page on social networks.
Google favors the HTTPS protocol
In recent years and especially since early 2017 Google strongly encourages websites to switch to HTTPS protocol to secure browsing of users on the website.
Google would favor the ranking of websites that have switched to HTTPS but that remains to be demonstrated according to the authority of the websites.
